#33: Sharks Don’t Mistake Humans for Seals
Shark attacks aren’t nearly as common as many people believe. There are about 72 shark attacks per year on average, but they’re just investigating something curious. They aren’t out to hurt or eat humans. They only have their teeth to explore with, and their teeth are very sharp killing machines.

To put things into perspective, cows kill 22 people yearly, while dogs attack 4.5 million people each year and kill between 30 and 50. Both the cow and dog attacks are more often on purpose than not, making sharks the least dangerous out of them all. They don’t see us as prey!
